Where Calm Takes Root and Confidence Blooms
Woodward Mental Health Services is a space rooted in connection, reflection, and purposeful growth. We believe true healing unfolds both inwardly and outwardly, and we are privileged to support clients throughout the Seacoast New Hampshire region, as well as across NH, ME, MA, VT, and IL through telehealth.
Led by Jane Woodward, MSW, LICSW, and joined by Sarah Ahearn, M.A., our team provides trauma-informed care that blends EMDR therapy, mindfulness-based practices, expressive therapies, and relational, responsive approaches tailored to each individual.
We are grateful for your interest in learning about our practice and warmly invite you to reach out with any questions as you explore whether our services may be the right fit for your journey toward healing and growth.
Our Approach to Therapy
Every client comes to us with a unique history, perspective, and set of strengths. Because of this, we do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, we take the time to deeply listen, understand your concerns, and collaborate with you on a treatment plan that feels supportive and aligned.
We draw on the latest research in mindfulness, neuroscience, trauma treatment, and experiential therapies. Modern brain science continues to show that therapy can help shift neural pathways, opening the door to new patterns, greater resilience, and more fulfilling ways of living. These advances reinforce what we already believe: the therapeutic relationship itself can be transformative.
Our Clinical Specialties
Jane is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses it widely with clients not only for trauma processing and symptom reduction, but also for strengthening performance, confidence, and emotional clarity. If a treatment approach is effective and grounded in research, we are interested in exploring how it can serve our clients.
We also value client preference. Your comfort with a therapeutic style or approach is an important part of creating a plan that works. Within a supportive, healing relationship, many people benefit from structured skills-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), especially for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindful awareness.
Our goal is always the same: to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered as you move toward your healthiest and most authentic self.
